Google+ for things

Google’s social network effort has moved to the next dimension – things. Google+ has introduced Google+ Pages for non-humans (read brands, companies and the like) to socially engage with their customers.

So far Google+ has focused on connecting people with other people. But we want to make sure you can build relationships with all the things you care about—from local businesses to global brands—so today we’re rolling out Google+ Pages worldwide.

Google has augmented Pages with the power of its search engine. Termed Direct Connect, users can prefix a “+” in their search, and they will be taken to the corresponding Google+ Page.
